Sometimes in 1992/93 the idea of establishing a private secondary School / continuing Education Centre was conceived by the Baderinwas because of the unbelievable poor results of their children at that years School Certificate Examination result.
In December 1997 one of the visioners was called to glory. When the time for the establishment of the School arrived, the family thought it wise to immortalize the family’s name through the deceased’s name being a member of the family.
In 1998 the 1st Reg form was obtained with the name Funmilayo Ige Baderinwa Continuing Education Centre (FIBEC), but the form was not processed. In 2006 another form was obtained with FIBEC but by the time the School took off in 2007 and by the time the provisional approval was granted the school has adopted the new name Funmilayo Ige Baderinwa School (FIBS).
